Make Your Calls

call to action for July 23, 2025

Background

With passage of the Big Bad Bill, Trump officials are now rushing to build more ICE concentration camps, like the notorious “Alligator Alcatraz” in Florida.

Even with the infusion of $30 billion to pay for new ICE officers and transportation, the agency will need to rely on local law enforcement for assistance. Thus the bill includes $14 billion for local law enforcement departments to incentivize partnerships with ICE. We need to urge our state and local officials to refuse to cooperate with ICE and to refuse the cash incentives.

Call Your State Senator

For many of us, our state senator is Josh Becker.. If you are not sure who your U.S. representative is, go here.

Sample Script

Hi, I'm a constituent from [your zip code]. My name is [your full name].

ICE raids are targeting essential workers, detaining innocent people without cause or due process, and terrorizing our communities. But ICE cannot do all of this without help. The recent budget bill includes $14 billion to pay for such help. I’m urging you to take action to make sure that California law enforcement agencies do not take federal money to partner with ICE in detaining California residents.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

Call Your County Supervisor

Don't  know your supervisor? In Santa Clara county, go here. In San Mateo county, go here.
