Make Your Calls

call to action for May 5, 2025

Background

The DOGE team at the National Park Service (NPS) is preparing to initiate a wave of mass firings nationwide, with devastating cuts coming as soon as this week. But the Trump administration knows that national parks are popular—because of YOUR advocacy—so they’re trying to hide these cuts while gutting the NPS from the inside out.

They’re planning to go after regional and national programs—staff members whom you might not meet in a visitor center or on a trail. But these experts in specialized programs and offices are the backbone of our parks, providing critical support and leadership.

Time to call our reps!

Call Your Senators

Adam Schiff | 202-224-3841

Hi, I'm a constituent calling from [zip]. My name is ______.

I am concerned about planned DOGE-led cuts to the core staff of the National Park Service. Those staff members—in programs like the National Register of Historic Places, the Volunteer Program, and the Junior Rangers Program—are crucial to keeping our parks operating and available for everyone.

The cuts would paralyze the ability of the park service to carry out its essential, legally mandated mission. We all need and love our parks! Please take immediate action to protect critical park programs from these horrible and wildly inefficient cuts.

Call Your Representative

For most of us, that’s Sam Liccardo. If you are not sure who your U.S. representative is, go here.

Sam Liccardo | (202) 225-8104
