“We the People” Parade & Democracy Fair PALO ALTO | JUNE 14

On Flag Day, Donald Trump will oversee a military display that echoes the aggressive pretensions of dictators overseas. In Palo Alto, we will gather not just in protest, but in defiance—loud, proud, joyful defiance of a tinpot wannabe tyrant who thinks that celebrating his birthday matters more than honoring the flag that symbolizes our freedom.

The Parade

On June 14, Donald Trump will be conducting a militaristic charade. We will be hosting a peaceful parade. Our sidewalk march along Embarcadero Road will send a bracing message to Trump and his MAGA minions:

This is what an American parade looks like.

No tanks, no guns, no war planes. Instead, there will be costumes, music, and American flags. It will be a sidewalk procession of your friends and neighbors—and you. We ARE the parade!

The Democracy Fair

Following a day of peaceful protests, we will host a celebration of what makes America truly great—and truly good.

The Democracy Fair will be an occasion for people to convene after No Kings events being held across the Peninsula. It will be an active, participatory gathering that includes something for everyone: an exhibit of pro-democracy art, music and theatrical performances, tables where people can learn about activism opportunities, a Resistance Lab workshop, a costume competition, and much more.

FAIR PROGRAM

Help Us Put on a Fair!

Why a democracy fair? Because, as important as it is to protest autocracy, we must also strengthen the thing the autocrats aim to crush: democratic civil society.

There will be protest marches and rallies across the country. And one Democracy Fair. It’s an audacious proposition.

But we need your help to make it a reality. This is the time to step up. All hands on deck.
